Running at "A" Effort

If you take the time to learn about training philosophies in running you will undoubtedly come across the notion of running at different paces.  I believe it was Jack Daniel’s that gave names to some or all of these paces.  There’s threshold, repetition, marathon, marathon goal, easy, recovery, etc.  I propose the addition of the V pace and A pace.

V threshold is the vomit threshold.  If you push any harder reverse peristalsis is imminent.

A pace is aggression or anger threshold.  You run at this pace to get rid of aggression.  Any slower and you’ll still be angry.  The speed, like V threshold, varies based on weather conditions and many other factors.  A threshold is generally run for a shorter distance at a pace very close to the traditional “T” pace (tempo).
