I just learned about the Adidas MiCoach. It’s too much gadgetry for me. I love gadgets — I make a living off of being a geek — but I don’t like much for gadgetry when I run. This is an intriguing product though. It has a pacer device, stride sensor, and heart rate monitor. It gives you audible alerts through headphones (I must have an input and output to attach to existing mp3 players). They apparently have a domain, micoach.com, that somehow integrates with the device and it somehow “coaches” you.
I am not impressed. It looks bulky and I don’t think it gives you much that a Garmin GPS watch wouldn’t. Plus I can’t help but think about the Nintendo Wii when I say the name MiCoach.
