Not too long ago I posted about Clif’s new formula for their gels. My beloved Double Expresso variety was reformulated (as well as their entire gel product line). Yesterday was the first day I tried the new formula.
As Clif stated it is thinner and that’s a good thing. Clif gels tend to be thick and when they get cold they get really thick. The new stuff is thinner but not as thin as Powerbar gels. It’s closer to Gu consistency but probably still slightly thicker.
The flavor of Double Expresso has changed and I think it will be more popular. It tastes more like heavily creamed and sugared coffee rather than black (non-tainted) coffee.
