Another Reason To Push Yourself

An interesting article in Psychology Today about a man who became an ultra-marathoner.  It’s also about being tough and why people do these “crazy” things.

“Intentionally expose yourself to things that you’re afraid of.” Start telling yourself that the smooth, comfortable life is not something to strive for, but rather a recipe for boredom and stagnation.

“Facing a challenge is not always going to be fun,” says Nowell. “If we waited around for intrinsic motivation to kick in before doing anything, we’d spend all our time eating candy apples and soaking in hot tubs.”
